Margaret was brought up in Wellington. She was educated at home by a governess and later attended Marsden School. After marrying Ray she moved to Rapanui and remained there for the rest of her life. She lived a very busy life supporting Ray on the farm and bringing up 5 children. Margaret enjoyed playing Bridge and sewing.
