Notes for Bruce Harrison Guthrie
Bruce was born and brought up in Dunedin. He was educated at John McGlashan College and spent his entire working career in the family firm, Guthrie Bowron. He served in Egypt and Italy during World War II. Bruce was prominent in community and church activities in Dunedin and, after retirement in 1975, at Wanaka. In 1995 he was awarded the Paul Harris Fellowship by the Rotary Club. Bruce is noted also for his fine gardens.
