Notes for Annemarie Clausen
“When John Timmons and I visited you [Helen Frost] in 1958, I did not read or write English. My first visit to a library was at age 21. I have a lot catching up to do with grammar, vocabulary, spelling, and computer. I feel overwhelmed by how much I need to learn. Yet poetry seems to come quite easely. My goal is to write childrens stories and books. The moment I met you all back in 1958, I felt very inspired by your lifestyle---compassion and simplicity. Enjoy the poems in attachment: www.thepassionneverfades.com (scroll down to Annemarie). Love and Blessings,”

Greetings from Kansas City to all the Frost Family:
It is amazing the things we find when we are searching for unrelated items. Well, I found your letter [from Helen Frost] to friends and family (from Dec. 01) that had been past on to Barbara Boadbridge (Timmons). I am glad it had e-mail addr., because it takes forever before anyone get snail mail from me.
Greetings especially to Jean Frost, I so often think about her and your great family.
When John Timmons and I came from Germany, your place in Brookings S.D. was one of the first stops. John did not speak German and I only knew "Sh..” and “I love you" in English. Although I learned new words each day, it took nearly 3 years before I could manage a conversation. My job, cleaning people’s homes while they were at work, kept me isolated from hearing engl.conversations.
That was in 1958, yet I still struggle with grammar and vocabulary. I learned my whole American History from Capton Kangaroo and Mr. Green Jeans.
John and I were married 35 years, before he moved in with his girlfriend. That happend 10 years ago ,so I live by myself.
Thanksgiving 2002 all 5 grown children, their spouses and 9 grandchildren met at Barb’s home in Indianapolis. That was the most awsome BLESSING any mother could possibly experience. I was in HEAVEN watching my children encouraging and empowering one another. Never a negative moment, not even the grandchildren were in disscourt [discord].
My next trip to Indianapolis is Febr. 9th 2003, to be with the girls while Barb and Blaine are on a two week trip. Perhaps we have time for some contact /conversation.
In my following e-mail I will send some attachment with some info about myself. I know time is precious for you all, yet it would mean alot to me to hear from you.
LOVE and BLESSINGS , Annemarie Timmons
