Notes for Alfred John Andrew
In 1881 Alfred was at school in Hereford. As an adult, Alfred resided in Wales. According to notes written by Dr. John Andrew while visiting family in Kilmarnock in 1937, Alfred appears to have been the Andrew of the famous Andrews Liver Salts.

==========

The family story about Andrews Liver Salts is inconsistent with a Dec 3 2008 article by Newcastle reporter Ray Marshall: “Andrews Liver Salt dates back to 1894, when provision importer Mr Scott and commission Turner decided there was a future for the health-giving properties of their tonic. The name Andrews was adopted for the product as the Scott/Turner offices were close to St Andrew’s Church, in Newgate Street, Newcastle. The trademark Andrews Liver Salt was registered in 1909 and the product was soon exported all over the world.”
