Robinson returned to Scotland from Australia at one stage. He located his sister-in-law Elizabeth Andrew in Glasgow and invited her to go out to Australia with him, which she did. According to Elizabeth in a letter written in 1879, it turned out they did not really want her in Australia so the move was a failure. Elizabeth wrote that this man [Robinson] was a "heavy drinker."
