Obituary notes for Inez Viola Ingebrigtson
Inez Viola Ingebrigtson Steen was born June 19, 1902 in Glendorado, Minnesota to Dorthe Marie and Ellef Ingebrigtson. She was baptized into the faith on July 13, 1902 at Santiago Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glendorado. The family moved to northeast Minneapolis where Inez attended school graduating from East High School in 1919. She completed her college degree and graduated from Pacific Lutheran University in 1953. On June 29, 1929 she and Ernest Steen were married at Concordia Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. She and Ernest were blessed with sixty-four years of marriage. Inez and Ernest served congregations in Mahnomen, Minnesota; Williston, North Dakota; Menomonie, Wisconsin; Parkland, Washington; Madison, Wisconsin; and Kearny, Arizona.

Inez was a prolific author, accomplished musician, spirited speaker and teacher, and artist. Her life centered in her home and family, and her church. Inez Steen died on January 11, 1994 at the age of 91 years. She was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth and sister, Orpha.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. Ernest B. Steen of Bloomington, Minnesota; sons, E. Luther and wife Barbara of Newtown, Pennsylvania; Paul and wife Judy of San Diego, California; David and wife Lori of Olympia, Washington; James Richard of Bellevue, Washington; daughter, Ruth DeFor and husband Kenneth of Bloomington; 19 grandchildren and six great grandchildren; sisters, Sara Ingebrigtson of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Elvera Anderson of Aurora, Colorado.
