“It was Paul Geiger in Stuttgart who wrote me a letter in German saying that he had sold some property there with fruit trees on it and that that money should go to my side of the family. When I went there, he showed me the property which had fruit trees on it. He had a sister, Louise , I have their pictures in my album. He also gave me that pewter plate I have hanging in my living room. . . . I have such good memories of Paul and Louise. (She had been to the US as a governess or something.) I sang for them in German. I can't remember what relation they were to us--[perhaps] a cousin, but I've forgotten.”
