According to a 21-April 1987 note by A.N. Liudahl of Devils Lake, ND on the genealogy record of Eric A. Livdalen, the family name was changed from Livdalen to Liudahl sometime around 1899. Accordingly, it is recorded here in its final (Liudahl) form.

Else Amundsdatter Livdalen’s brother Erik “was the great grandfather of Dr. Gene Liudal from Mitchell, SD, whom I have met out here [Colorado]. He researched quite a bit of that branch, but was really happy to get what we had, too. The Tinglestad family is part of that line."
