Notes for Joergen Peter Rasmussen
Joergen Peter came to the States in May 1866 onboard "Peruvian". During the voyage, cholera broke out, and the ship was in quarantine when it arrived with 758 passengers in NY. 35 persons died on the passage, 28 were sick and would be taken to hospital. On the list of the deceased were two of Joergen Peter's children. They died from diarrhæa. What was left of the family went to sister Sidse in Cleveland. Later they went to Ottertail County, Tordenskjold Township where they had two children, named after the dead children.
