Notes for Karl Charles Schuster
“Grandpa Greiner was the father only of my Mother--then her Mother married Karl Schuster who was the half-brother of George Greiner--and had three more children--Aunt Rose , Aunt Clara, and Aunt Dora who died early---I never knew her. Aunt Rose married Fred Nugent and lived in N,J. My cousin Fred died a few years ago but did visit us out here. His daughter, Nancy, lives in Venice Fla, (941-485-5901). Son Russell lives in Sarasota, Fl. Aunt Clara's son Ray Klein lives in New Jersey.  I tried to keep in touch with him but, he doesn't seem to reciprocate (908-835-9403).”

-- Margery Mayer Voutsas, 6 Mar 2008, in an e-mail message to her son Lynn.

“The husband of the aunt Schuster, Karl (Charles) Schuster is born on 7.3.1873 in Klein-Eislingen (Wurttemberg).”

-- Paul Geiger, as quoted by Gertrude Woodman in a letter to Margery of Oct. 25, 1979

“Descendants of Tobias Geiger” reports that Margery thinks it was Karl Charles Schuster who passed on red hair in the family. She reports that her father Gottlieb had dark red hair.

++++++++++

Nancy Nugent Drake reports that Karl Charles Schuster was born on 7 March 1873 (not 3 Jul 1873 as listed here). Perhaps the July date was christening date rather than a birth date.

++++++++++

On the 1910 Census, his name is spelled Carl; on the 1930 census he used his middle name Charles.

++++++++++

The 1910 census names Harold and Arthur as children of Karl and Louisa Schuster (in addition to Dorothy (Dora), Caroline (Carrie), Rose, and Clara.
