William Turner, a Scotch Presbyterian minister,  emigrated to Maryland with his family to escape religious persecution.  His son Zadock fought with Gen. Washington in the Revolutionary War.  Zadock and his family moved to Georgia in the late 1800s.  It was Zadock's daughter Mary Sabra who married a Timmons (Abigah).  Their son William is the father of Thomas Holmes, whose son Herbert moved north to Minnesota and was Jean Timmons' father.
