George was a salesman for Guthrie Bowron in Wellington which was managed by his father-in-law. At a later stage he was a Director of Guthrie Bowron and managed Martin Welch which dealt in leather products. George is buried in the Henderson Family Plot at St. Mary's Anglican Church, Karori, Wellington, N.Z.
