Obituary notes for Phyllis Jean Frost
Phyllis Jean Georgeson, a teacher, artist, mother of five, died on Monday, January 2nd at The Gardens in Yuba City, California. She was 79. Her daughter Carol was at her side singing to her when she went to be with the Lord.

Phyllis "Jean" was born on April 27th, 1932 to Herbert and Verla Frost in Cleveland, Ohio. She was an only child. Jean studied at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa and became an elementary school teacher in California where she met her husband Berneil.

She spent most of her life in Sacramento, California and raised five children as a stay-at-home Mom. Later she drove bus part-time until retiring in 1979. In retirement she picked back up her artist brush and started to paint. Her favorite media was water color and acrylic and her artwork hangs in the homes of her loved ones.

Jean played the piano and had a beautiful singing voice. She often started her day with inspirational songs for her family to enjoy. She had given her life to Jesus and it was evident both in her priorities, foundational joy and warm smile even in hard times. Jean taught her children to follow Jesus and led a Child Evangelism Good News Club ministry in the neighborhood for many years. She left a Godly heritage to her children and grandchildren.

Over the past ten years her declining health ,made daily activities more challenging. Fortunately, she was able to keep walking her neighborhood loop for many years as this was one of her favorite activities. Thanks to the support from friends, her church (Valley Hi Covenant), and her family, she was able to stay in her home up until just a few years ago.

She is survived by five loving children, Bonnie, Gary, Jon, Carol and Jim and 14 loving grandchildren, Carrie, Clint, Calynn, Nathanael, Jonny, Rachel, Christa, Josiah, Alina, Hosea, Aaron, Caleb, Rebecca and Jesse. Today she enjoys Luke, her oldest grandson, in heaven.

Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Phyllis' Life on Saturday, January 14th at 1 o'clock in the afternoon at Harry A. Nauman & Son, Land Park Funeral Chapel, 4041 Freeport Blvd., Sacramento. A reception will immediately follow services in the Drawing Room at Harry A. Nauman & Son.
